I wonder if natures' evolutionary photosynthetic design for converting sunlight into energy in the case of the waterlily leaf is finished and no further improvement is required. I would imagine so because it looks perfect just the way it is, and beautiful too. Simple in form and efficient in function, that's how life should be.
