Just in the past year, five new resorts have sprung up in this area. For now they have virtually no guests on weekdays and not many on weekends.Owning a boutique resort with spa service has become something of a fad among the well-to-do, and given their financial staying power, they should do quite well in the long run. Beachfront land prices won't go anywhere but up. This will act like a powerful magnet for more developments to follow.
The upshot is that these beaches and the whole area won't remain clean and pristine for long. I am very grateful, however, to have arrived just in time to see "the last show" of peacefulness and natural beauty before the jet skis, neon signs, and kareoke bars spoil it all.
