Antidote

Israel "Iz" Kamakawiwo'ole sings "Wind Beneath My Wings"
I love the part where Iz sings a completely different melody in Hawaiian with what seems like an ancient chant in the background. It's two songs in one and the gentle and restrained arrangement is pure magic. This is for me an antidote to some things that poison my heart nowadays, such as having to report to world news media about Thai politics, which is a horror show of sickening proportion.
When I was young I once heard my mother use the saying, "Ya ao kaew hai ling", which means "Don't give a glass to monkeys." The saying has stayed with me over all these years because it applies to many situations in life. My precious country is the glass, and lots of monkeys are fighting over it now.
