Trekkers' Paradise

Karen mountain tribe villages are located in and beyond these hills and mountains. It's a largely undiscovered trekkers' paradise and there are local guides to take you around. There are also great mountain biking trails.
The last time I went trekking in the forest, I said to myself, "Never again! This is too grueling for me!" But as soon as I got home, I was already planning my next outing.
The area, named the Huey Kah Kaeng National Park, is the largest tropical forest remaining in Southeast Asia. I am deeply grateful to the people who years ago pushed hard against tough opposition to make this forest a national park and wildlife protection area. But the fight to prevent commercial exploitation continues today, and this time the disgusting enemy is a mining company.
