After enrolling at the Bangkok Music Institute, I wondered how my piano teacher would react upon seeing me because of my age. We met for the first time today and sure enough, the nice young man was visibly taken aback though not in a bad way.
When I sat down at the piano to play, he asked gently and politely, "Can you see the notes on the page?"
So now I have a perfect excuse when I play badly: "Notes?"
