An enterprising Thai lady I know goes to southern China several times a year to buy beautiful handicrafts to sell at her two small stores in Bangkok.
Here you see multiple neck rings worn by women on special social occasions. Even though I normally prefer simple designs over intricate ones, I think this piece is beautiful.
I'll find out more about about the people who wear this type of ornament and their customs and traditions next time I see the lady.
