Royal Beach

There is a stretch of beach about four kilometers long near Baan Tumthong that is particularly clean and pristine. The reason is that the property adjacent to the beach is managed by the Bureau of the Royal Household.
There's no prohibition against walking along the beach, and I have done it a couple of times. The property itself has been left as a forest and serves as a botanical and ecological study center.
The guard at the entrance once told me that members of the royal family occasionally come by on unannounced private visits. It's great that the land belongs to the royal family because this will ensure that the beach will not be spoiled by commercial and other kinds of development. This is my favorite place to go biking when I'm in Bang Saphan Noi,
