The evolutionary survival strategy of the pineapple plant seems to be based on adaptation to rocky and sandy soil and climate conditions that range from tropical to semi-arid. It's a tough and hardy plant that thrives in sunshine.
However, a lack of certain nutrients, especially urea and potassium, can be a serious matter. The most obvious sign of nutrient deficiency is when the leaves turn yellow.
If you start with just one pineapple plant, you will have many more in a few years just by using the shoots from the original and future plants. Each plant in the picture is a shoot of its parent.

Being a pineapple farmer, I have been trying to regenerate my own self without turning yellow. The secret is in the soil (being grounded), the sunshine (hope and optimism), and nourishment (kindness and compassion). Throughout my life, I've heard unconfirmed though enticing rumors that personal regenerative growth can be achieved by sprouting new shoots.
