Banrai Cowboy

A piece of land I own was sold to me by a gentleman in his late sixties who wears a pacemaker to keep his heart ticking properly. His daughter complains that he loves Banrai so much he won't stop driving alone to come here from their shophouse business in another city, sometimes going off the road because he would fall asleep, or hitting other vehicles and pedestrians along the way.
Let's call him Khun Sawang here.
About twenty years ago Khun Sawang got the idea of importing top breed cattle from overseas and setting up a ranch in Banrai to breed them.
"It was his big dream to be a cowboy," his only daughter said to me, her eyes rolling.
Something went wrong, however, and the dude ranch project never materialized, or maybe it got off the ground and crashed.
Khun Sawang said he lost 7 million baht but asserted that he would have succeeded if it weren't for being "mod kasun" - out of bullets - meaning he had no money left to invest.
"He spends money on women," his daughter said to me in a whisper.
I didn't know what to say, but I was thinking he must be wearing an excellent pacemaker.
